In the first time in what feels like forever, everything coming out of Manchester United right now feels positive. The post-Sir Alex Ferguson era has been tough for the Red Devils, but they appear to be rediscovering their mojo under Ole Gunner Solskjaer. After a difficult start to the 2019/20 season, United have now produced three huge wins in the space of eight days.Last Wednesday, they got the ball rolling by outplaying Jose Mourinho's Tottenham, winning 2-1 at Old Trafford and that was followed up by a memorable derby win over Manchester City on Saturday. And last night, that run was extended with a crushing 4-0 win over AZ Alkmaar to end their Europa League group stage campaign in style.

The game saw teenage prodigy Mason Greenwood add two more goals to his tally and it was also a special night for Sergio Romero.

United's no-nonsense back-up goalkeeper made his 50th appearance for the club and the game yielded his 31st clean sheet between the sticks.

What a record that is. Romero delivers a clean sheet in 62% of his games for the club and that's usually behind a makeshift defence!

It's time to realise that United fans were bang on when they labelled the Argentine cult hero 'the best back-up goalkeeper in world football'.

ANALYSIS

GiveMeSport's Danny Ryan says:

There hasn't been much coming out of United in recent years to spark envy from rivals, but Romero has certainly been a cause for that even during their darkest times.

What manager in the world wouldn't want a second choice goalkeeper of such quality, who never complains about sitting behind David de Gea in the pecking order?

Barcelona tried it with Claudio Bravo and Marc-Andre ter Stegen and it just didn't work, but Romero is simply an anomaly.

The guy is a United legend!
