It's FIFA Team of the Year time again folks.

EA Sports' annual Ultimate Team tradition sees the best players in the world receive some outrageously overpowered cards to commemorate their success.

Down the years, we've seen 99-rated monsters, enough Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi cards to last a lifetime and few surprise selections.

With the 55 nominees for FIFA 20's Team of the Year now selected - with fans free to vote for their choices - it's time to take a look down memory lane.

That's right, we've scoured the archives to find every Team of the Year in Ultimate Team history and given our verdict on the most legendary card from each one.

Given that the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Dani Alves, Sergio Ramos and more feature so regularly, we've decided to go for the slightly more obscure choices.

Teams provided by Futhead.

FIFA 11

Legendary card - Lucio (89)

Messi (95) and Ronaldo (93) are obviously the highest rated cards there, but that Lucio was pretty much an entire four-man back line by himself.

If you were one of the few to have him and Maicon (89) in your team, then just know you probably still give some players nightmares to this very day.

FIFA 12

Legendary card - Wayne Rooney (95)

Back when Wazza was a virtual God. The complete striker in the early days of Ultimate Team and this card was just simply unstoppable.

Nemanja Vidic (94) wasn't bad either...

FIFA 13

Legendary card - Radamel Falcao (94)

The card that was born to score headers. Falcao's heroics with Atletico Madrid handed FIFA players a truly terrifying TOTY card, which was like a magnet towards any airborne ball.

If you had him and you whipped in a cross, you were already charging around your bedroom in celebration before the ball hit the back of the net.

FIFA 14

Legendary card - Zlatan Ibrahimovic (96)

If you know, you know. A 6'5" striker with 82 pace and nine in-game stats at 99 overall? That's right, literally the definition of a cheat code.

Franck Ribery's 96 was also pretty spectacular that year, but it pales in comparison to the mighty Zlatan!

FIFA 15

Legendary card - Angel di Maria (94)

Before we wax lyrical about Di Maria, let's just take a moment to applaud Ronaldo here, the first ever 99-rated card in FIFA history.

But back to Di Maria and what a bloody monster he was. Premier League XIs on Ultimate Team were never the same after, with that pace through the middle simply too much to handle.

Also, David Luiz?!

FIFA 16

Legendary card - Paul Pogba (93)

Before he was the most divisive entity in the Premier League, Pogba was making the game look easy at Juve and this card made FIFA easy for any player lucky enough to have him.

Those 98 long shots were like heat-seeking missiles! Special mention to Neymar (97), with his 98 pace and 99 dribbling.

FIFA 17

Legendary card - Luis Suarez (98)

The toughest one to pick from, so we've gone for Suarez, his only Team of the Year inclusion to date.

Although, it was the year that Manuel Neuer (98) received the highest rating ever handed to a goalkeeper on Ultimate Team.

FIFA 18

Legendary card - N'Golo Kante (95)

Imagine giving the best defensive midfielder on the game 87 shooting! It was bad enough when the guy was thwarting our attackers with ease, but now he could score from virtually anywhere.

One of the few cards that can lay claim to being better than the Ultimate Team legend that is Ruud Gullit. Kevin De Bruyne (96) was a pretty tasty card too...

FIFA 19

Legendary card - Raphael Varane (96)

The centre-back that could literally levitate across the pitch. Got a 96-pace Kylian Mbappe charging through on goal? No matter for Don Rapahel, who made Sergio Ramos (97) look like Per Mertesacker.

Special mentions to another set of beastly cards for both Kante and De Bruyne, while Modric was handed the prestigious honour of receiving a 99 rating.

So which card from FIFA 20 will join our legendary club?

Will Sadio Mane finally get the Team of the Year call-up he deserves, along with the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson?

If there's any justice in the world, they will and we could see the birth of some iconic Ultimate Team superstars.
