Marcus Rashford is currently enjoying the best season of his career.

The 22-year-old, who has already made 191 senior appearances for the Red Devils, has scored 13 goals in 21 games so far this term.

He’s on course to smash his previous best tally for goals in a season (13 - which he registered in both the 2017/18 and 2018/19 campaigns) and is now one of the first names on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s teamsheet.

Rashford caught the eye in pre-season before scoring two goals against Chelsea on the opening weekend. He then endured a difficult few weeks but scored for England during the first international break of the season and returned to Old Trafford full of confidence.

Since then, Rashford has bagged nine goals in 11 games for the Red Devils and currently sits fourth in the Premier League’s top scorer charts behind Jamie Vardy, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Tammy Abraham.

Solskjaer raised eyebrows earlier this week by agreeing that comparisons can be made between Rashford and Cristiano Ronaldo.

“It's very easy to compare the two of them, yeah,” the United boss told reporters. “Both with skills, body shape, attitude, attributes - everything. The boy has every chance in the world to become a top, top player.”

And just like Ronaldo, Rashford has completed a remarkable transformation from skinny teenager to powerful forward within the space of a few years.

Here’s Rashford in 2015…

And again in 2017…

And this is him today (via his Instagram)…

Fair play to the lad.

Cricket hero Jofra Archer thought it was Anthony Joshua at first! We presume that was a tongue-in-cheek comment...

Perhaps we shouldn’t be too surprised, though. Ronaldo is one of Rashford’s biggest inspirations, after all.

Like his hero, Man Utd’s current No. 10 has clearly put in the hard work inside the gym over the past couple of years and now he’s reaping the rewards.

Ronaldo scored 27 goals in his first three seasons at Old Trafford - and then returned from the 2006 World Cup built like a monster.

In his final three seasons with United, the Portuguese superstar scored 91 goals and won a Ballon d’Or.

Will we see a similar improvement from the bulked-up Rashford?

Time will tell…
