Last month's Survivor Series pay-per-view seriously helped the NXT brand in more ways than one.

Not only did it give some of their top stars more exposure to the casual WWE fan, but in turn that has also drawn a few more eyes to the product on Wednesday nights.

In turn, that has seen All Elite Wrestling's numbers for Dynamite fluctuate, as WWE looked to close the gap on their new-found competition, and they did just that by loading the NXT before Survivor Series with main roster starts.

It definitely worked as for the first time in the Wednesday Night Wars, NXT secured a victory in the viewership over their rivals, focusing 25,000 more pairs of eyes to their product than AEW's.

NXT followed that up a week later with an even more comprehensive victory over AEW, but last week it was back to narrow figures, with AEW coming out on top by just 6,000 people.

The numbers are out for the December 11 episodes - and for the first time ever between the two shows there is NOTHING to split them in terms of live viewership in the States.

According to ShowBuzzDaily, both NXT and Dynamite managed to rake in 778,000 live viewers, which is almost 1.6 million people in the USA watching a new promotion and WWE's 'third brand' on a Wednesday evening - not bad when you think about it.

In the key 18-49-year-old demographic though, AEW came out on top - 0.28 to NXT's 0.24 - but the big picture will show that both shows managed to draw in the exact same crowd numbers-wise.

It's not clear how many will have ended up watching recordings of each show, but this is a positive for wrestling as a whole.

Both sides are stacking the deck for their final live shows before Christmas, with NXT's Women's and Men's Championships both being defended by Shayna Baszler and Adam Cole respectively.

AEW meanwhile already have The Young Bucks challenging SCU for their Tag Team Titles, in what is set to be a barnstormer - so strap in folks for whatever show you decide to watch on December 18!
