Gamers around the world are starting to get excited as more and more updates emerge with regards to the next-gen consoles.

Rumours about the PlayStation 5 have been high over the past month or so, with rumoured release dates and potential prices leaking, as well as photos of the controller and console itself.

Meanwhile, Microsoft and Xbox revealed their next-gen console during The Game Awards on Thursday night, and have confirmed that it will be released in the holidays of 2020.

So it's safe to say it's an exciting time for gamers, and things have got even more exciting with the news of the very first game that will be available on the PlayStation 5.

Introducing 'Godfall'.

During the awards, PlayStation announced the game and confirmed that it will be the very first game available on the new console in the new year.

What is it, I hear you ask?

Well, 'Godfall' is a "looter-slasher" that's being published by Borderlands studio Gearbox and developed by Counterplay.

It's hard to explain what a game is like using words, so instead, how about watching the teaser trailer that has been dropped on YouTube following the announcement of the game.

As you can see, it looks pretty crazy and the graphics are pretty startling. No doubt they will only get better as well as we move closer to release date.

Speaking about the game itself, Counterplay wrote in a statement: "As players face challenging missions in the world of Godfall, enemies and bosses will reward fans with head-turning loot as they are vanquished.

"Counterplay Games is aiming to feed into that yearning for the next best piece in your character build, so they plan to provide plenty of loot to players to ensure there's meaningful impact to gameplay and playstyles.

"When playing Godfall, you can go it alone, or play with anyone at any time.

"Bosses and enemies have been designed from the ground up with co-op in mind, with special abilities that counter multiple combatants attacking from different angles."

How very exciting.

With more news dropping about the next-gen consoles, the excitement levels will certainly keep building.
