Olivier Giroud is close to agreeing on personal terms to join Inter Milan.

The 33-year-old Chelsea striker is currently third-choice at his club, behind Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi.

He has made it clear in recent months that he won't settle for just sitting on the bench, hinting at a move away from London.

"Accept it? No. I do not accept it," the Frenchman said when asked about his situation in October.

"However, you do not have to be fatalistic in certain situations. I have always been respectful and humble.

"Even if I do not agree with the coach, I do not criticise him. But in myself, I cannot accept it because I know what I'm worth on a pitch.

"Last year, when I felt I deserved to play, I asked the coach for explanations."

Despite hoping that his situation at Stamford Bridge will change, Giroud has seen no substantial increase in his playing time.

Now, according to L’Equipe, per GFFN, he has made 'considerable and positive strides towards reaching an agreement over personal terms' with Inter

Their report states that the striker would still be third-choice at the San Siro, behind Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez.

But due to Antonio Conte's system that often deploys two centre-forwards at the same time, Giroud would see considerably more playing time.

That's something Giroud is desperate for, as he hopes to make the squad for France's Euro 2020 campaign.

As well as being in contact with the Nerazzurri, the striker has also been linked to Crystal Palace and Lyon, but it's reported that neither club have a serious interest.

Therefore, it seems Giroud is destined for Italy, to link up with Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez. What an interesting front three that could turn out to be!
