No football fan likes to see their team lose.

Unfortunately, it’s part of the sport we love.

No team will ever go an entire season without losing at least once in all competitions.

But there are losses and then there are LOSSES.

A 1-0 defeat when you’ve been the better side against a team that is expected to beat you is pretty easy to deal with.

But an embarrassing loss when you were least expecting it can be tough to take.

While we all want to forget all about our side’s worst losses, HITC's Youtuber 'The Irish Guy’ wants to remind us of them all.

In another brilliant video, he’s listed every Premier League club’s most ‘embarrassing defeat of the decade.’

Look away now:

Arsenal | Manchester United 8-2 Arsenal | 2011

Humiliation. Total humiliation for Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal.

A Wayne Rooney hat-trick, two Ashley Young beauties, Nani, Danny Welbeck and Ji-Sung Park scored the goals during the rout.

Arsenal did manage to finish third that season, although they were 19 points behind second-place United.

Aston Villa | Chelsea 8-0 Aston Villa | 2012

Just two days before Christmas, Chelsea were in no mood to let Villa enjoy the festivities.

They knew they were in trouble when they let Fernando Torres score after just three minutes.

Villa somehow survived that season as they finished 15th, while Chelsea came third.

Bournemouth | Chesterfield 1-0 Bournemouth | 2012

Seven years ago, Bournemouth were far from Premier League regulars.

Instead, they were losing to bottom of League One, Chesterfield, under Lee Bradbury.

Eddie Howe had left the club one year earlier to join Burnley but would return 10 months later to guide them to the top-flight.

Brighton | Brighton 0-5 Bournemouth | 2019

When your manager says ‘it could have been worse’ when you lose 5-0 at home, it says a lot about your side’s performance.

Bournemouth were already 2-0 up when Anthony Knockaert was sent off for a shocking tackle. The away side took advantage and saw Brighton looking nervously over their shoulder as they sat 17th with just five matches left last season.

They did just about enough to survive, though.

Burnley | Burnley 1-6 Manchester City | 2010

Burnley losing 6-1 to Man City doesn’t sound too embarrassing. But this wasn’t the City side of today. It featured the likes of Nedum Onuoha, Adam Johnson and Gareth Barry.

Yet Burnley, who desperately needed a big performance in their relegation fight, found themselves 3-0 down in seven minutes and 4-0 down in 20 minutes.

You won’t be surprised to hear that they were eventually relegated, while City finished fifth.

Chelsea | Chelsea 2-4 Bradford | 2015

Still one of the biggest shocks in FA Cup history.

Jose Mourinho named the likes of Petr Cech, Gary Cahill, Cesar Azpiliceuta, Oscar, Mohamed Salah and Didier Drogba in his starting line-up and led League One Bradford 2-0 after 38 minutes.

The Blues had won all 10 of their Premier League matches at home at that point and were eyeing up a quadruple.

But Bradford, who were 49 places below their opponents, produced an incredible comeback to win 4-2.

Crystal Palace | Crystal Palace 0-4 Sunderland | 2017

Imagine being 4-0 down at home to the side managed by David Moyes that is bottom of the Premier League.

Crystal Palace didn’t need to imagine that back in February 2017 because it was very much reality.

Sam Allardyce left his role at Selhurst Park at the end of the season after guiding them to safety.

Everton | Everton 1-5 Atalanta | 2017

We all know that Atalanta are a decent side but losing 5-1 at home in a European game in front of a half-empty Goodison Park wasn’t nice for Everton and caretaker manager David Unsworth.

It could have been a lot worse as well with goalkeeper Joel Robles producing some incredible saves, including a penalty.

Leicester | Leicester 1-6 Tottenham | 2017

In the penultimate game of the 2016/17 season, Leicester were humiliated in their final home game of the season under Craig Shakespeare.

Harry Kane scored four and Son Heung-min bagged a brace as Spurs secured second spot.

Liverpool | Stoke 6-1 Liverpool | 2015

Steven Gerrard deserved the perfect send-off in his final Liverpool game. It ended with a 6-1 defeat at the Britannia against Stoke.

Gerrard did sign off with a goal but Brendan Rodgers probably should have been sacked there and then as Liverpool finished sixth.

Manchester City | Wigan 1-0 Manchester City | 2013

Roberto Mancini’s side were heavy favourites to win the 2013 FA Cup final but a side containing Vincent Kompany, Yaya Toure, David Silva, Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero succumbed to an injury-time header from Ben Watson.

Wigan were relegated from the Premier League that season,

Manchester United | MK Dons 4-0 Manchester United | 2014

Louis van Gaal may have made plenty of changes but they were thrashed 4-0 by League One MK Dons in the League Cup.

Will Grigg was on fire as an 18-year-old Dele Alli pulled the strings in midfield.

Five years on, only one player that started that night is still at the club - David de Gea.

Newcastle | Newcastle 0-6 Liverpool | 2013

Liverpool were without Luis Suarez and their starting XI featured Jose Enrique, Lucas Leiva and Stewart Downing in their starting line-up. This wasn't a special Liverpool side.

But the home side allowed Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge to bag braces with Daniel Agger and Fabio Borini scoring the other two.

Norwich | Manchester City 7-0 Norwich | 2013

Losing 7-0 is always embarrassing no matter the circumstances. But when you score two own goals and find yourselves 4-0 down at half-time, you know you’ve had a bad day in the office.

City won the league that season, while Norwich were relegated.

Sheffield United | Sheffield United 1-3 Bury | 2015

Sheffield United are currently competing for a European place in the Premier League while Bury don’t even exist.

The Blades finished 11th in League One that season.

They won the division the following year and are now loving life in the big time.

Southampton | Southampton 0-9 Leicester | 2019

We don’t have to go back too far to remember Southampton’s most embarrassing defeat of the decade.

Ryan Bertrand’s red card at 1-0 certainly didn’t help but Leicester showed no mercy as they ran out 9-0 winners.

It equalled the biggest loss in Premier League history.

Tottenham | Tottenham 2-7 Bayern Munich | 2019

Earlier in October, Spurs were humiliated in their own stadium with the whole of Europe watching.

What made it worse was the fact former Arsenal player Serge Gnabry scored FOUR.

Both Spurs and Bayern Munich has since sacked their managers, while they both qualified from the group.

Watford | Manchester City 6-0 Watford | 2019

Watford lost 8-0 to Man City in the Premier League this season but their 6-0 loss in the FA Cup final last season was even more embarrassing.

One of the biggest matches in the club’s history and you go and get hammered with the whole country watching.

Their terrible form this season may have something to do with the fact that they’re still recovering from that terrible result.

West Ham | AFC Wimbledon 4-2 West Ham | 2019

AFC Wimbledon were bottom of League One when Premier League West Ham came to visit in the FA Cup fourth round last season.

West Ham found themselves 2-0 down at half-time which prompted Manuel Pellegrini to make three substitutions at half-time. But within seconds of the restart, the League One side made it 3-0.

The Hammers got it back to 3-2 but the League One side made it 4-2 late on.

Wolves | Crawley Town 2-1 Wolves | 2014

A result that shows just how far Wolves have come.

Earlier this week, they reached the knockout stages of the Europa League but in March 2014, they were losing to Crawley.

Crawley are now in League Two, while Wolves are threatening to crack the Premier League top six.

There we have the most embarrassing defeat of every Premier League club.

Which result is the most embarrassing?

Arsenal’s 8-2 loss to rivals Manchester United? Chelsea’s FA Cup defeat to Bradford? Liverpool’s 6-1 hammering against Stoke in Gerrard’s final match for the club? Man City losing to Wigan in the FA Cup final? United losing 4-0 to MK Dons? Southampton getting thrashed 9-0 at home to Leicester? Spurs humiliated by Bayern Munich 7-2?

We’re going for Chelsea’s loss to League One Bradford.

They were the best side in the country at the time and Mourinho had fielded an extremely strong side. And despite being 2-0 up, managed to lose 4-2.

Embarrassing.
