How are your nerves, Liverpool fans? The mauling the Reds expected to inflict on Watford didn't quite materialise but it finished 2-0 thanks to a superb brace from Mo Salah. First, the Egyptian cut inside brilliantly before scoring a curling effort to finish off a superb counter-attack. Sadio Mane then thought he'd doubled their lead only for his strike to be ruled out by VAR for the most ridiculous of offsides. It made for a nervy ending as Christian Kabasele continued to open the hosts up.

Watford were always going to be made to pay for their awful finishing, however, even if it took until the final 30 seconds of normal time.

It was Salah again, this time scoring a superb backheel - and pulling off a cheeky nutmeg in the process - from yards out as the ball pinged around Ben Foster's six-yard box.

Both the forward's goals can be seen below:

Incredibly, the 27-year-old has now been directly involved in 57 goals in his last 52 league games at Anfield.

On top of that, he now has 84 goals in all competitions, which according to Squawka, is two more than Luis Suarez managed in his Liverpool career.

Salah has also beaten the Uruguay international to that tally by seven games (126 to 133).

By comparison, Fernando Torres scored 81 in 142 games.

Of course, where Salah will really be judged is on whether he can surpass both those legends by winning a Premier League title.

And on current form, it's almost impossible to see past Liverpool as they race into an 11 point-lead.
