It's been rumoured to be happening for some time, but it is now official after UFC confirmed it themselves with a poster dropping over the weekend and an official promo being released.

Conor McGregor vs Donald Cerrone WILL be happening in January, and we cannot wait!

On January 18, Notorious will make his return to the Octagon after a 15-month absence. He was last seen inside the cage against Khabib Nurmagomedov, losing via submission before all hell broke loose.

Suspensions were handed out to both fighters, but it was McGregor who seemed to suffer most, despite receiving the smaller ban.

Issues away from the sport dominated his 2019, but finally he will be back where he belongs and back inside the Octagon fighting...legally, of course.

On the other hand, Cerrone had a busy 2019 himself, but all his antics have taken place inside the cage.

He's had four fights, winning two and losing two. His wins came against Alexander Hernandez and Al Iaquinta, whilst his two defeats came at the hands of Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje, with the latter being a first-round stoppage.

In his 50 fights, he has 35 wins, whilst McGregor has 21 wins in just 25 fights.

The T-Mobile Arena will play host to the fight and it will undoubtedly be a must-watch night of action, and the UFC have done their best to hype it up already by releasing their promo.

Unsurprisingly, it's absolutely brilliant and worthy of giving any UFC fight goosebumps.

The story telling for both fighters is incredible, and it sets us up very nicely for UFC 246 in the New Year.
