EA Sports are at it again. The company who bring the famous FIFA game to players all around the world are renowned these days for delivering some bizarre content on Ultimate Team.Overpriced Squad Building Challenges have become the norm, but EA Sports have outdone themselves with the two latest players made available in the FUTMAS promotion.Napoli right-back Kevin Malcuit was the first to be released at 6pm last night, a decent-looking 84 card on paper.

However, fans were utterly bemused at the requirements needed to get the Frenchman.

How bad? Only a full 86-rated squad, for one 84-rated player...

But wait, there's more. Hertha Berlin striker Dodi Lukebakio followed shortly after, with the Belgian's card an exciting prospect on paper.

An 84-rated striker with 93 pace, decent shooting and four-star skills? Not bad, but the SBC requirements sadly make Lukebakio a complete no-go.

Two 84-rated squads and - quite astoundingly - a full 85-rated squad is what's needed, which will set you back around 150,000 to 200,000 coins. Ridiculous.

Where's your Christmas spirit, EA? As expected, fans were flabbergasted in the comments sections on Twitter and we've provided some of the best reaction below.

GiveMeSport's Danny Ryan says:

Sadly, Ultimate Team has gone from the greatest game mode created in virtual football history, to a dull arena littered with poor content and the need to spend actual real life money on a regular basis.

We all know the game mode brings in millions, so why not actually hand something back to the players for a change, eh?

The prospect of trying out new and different players is what keeps many people interested in the game, but that will soon change if they consistently cost an arm and a leg.

Yes, Malcuit is probably the best Serie A right-back available in the game now, but an 86-rated squad for an 84? Come on, do the maths!
