One of the rumoured matches for WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs tonight was an Intercontinental Championship match between Shinsuke Nakamura and Brawn Strowman.

However, we're just mere hours away from the pay-per-view taking place at Minneapolis, Minnesota, and that match is yet to be booked for the show.

It's unlikely to be booked as Strowman is reportedly dealing with back spasms, and now the man himself has clarified what injury he has.

On his personal Instagram account, The Monster Among Men has clarified he has a back injury, but he did not comment on how much longer he will be out of a WWE ring.

He accompanied a picture of himself on Instagram with the following caption: "I'm bored laying around nursing this old back of mine somebody make me laugh!!!!! #CaptionThis"

This contradicts WWE's own injury reports on Strowman, who they state is out of action due to a sore hip, according to Wrestling Inc.

The Monster Among Men's last match for WWE was a dark match at Starrcade on December 1 against 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt.

While Strowman is out of TLC, Nakamura will likely be on the show in some capacity, but he is yet to be booked in a match for the show.

Since the Royal Rumble on January 27, 2020, is still almost a month and a half away, it seems unlikely that WWE will go that long before having another Intercontinental title match.

Any rearranged match between The King of Strong Style and The Monster Among Men for the Intercontinental title will probably take place on an episode of SmackDown between now and the Rumble in January.

This will give WWE breathing room to book a rematch for the Intercontinental title at the Rumble itself.

WWE will be looking to reelevate the status of the Intercontinental Championship after introducing a new look for the title belt before Survivor Series last month.

Since winning the Intercontinental title during the Extreme Rules Kickoff Show back in July, Nakamura has only defended the title three times on television.

His last title defense was against Roman Reigns on October 18 during an episode of SmackDown.

Fingers crossed the new year brings a rejuvenation for the Intercontinental Championship with a storyline and match between Nakamura and Strowman, as it has become a bit of a forgotten title in WWE over the past couple of months.
