Tyson Fury has begun his search for a new trainer ahead of his upcoming world title rematch with Deontay Wilder in February 2020 after it was announced that Ben Davison would no longer be playing the role.Davison had replaced Fury’s previous trainer, his uncle Peter Fury, and trained the Gypsy King throughout his remarkable comeback into boxing, which included last year’s first fight with Wilder that ended in a draw.Following the split, Davison said: “Tyson and myself had to make decisions for our careers, which resulted in our working relationship coming to an end.“However, we will remain friends and he will smash the dosser.”Davison is credited with helping Fury overcome mental health, drugs and alcohol issues to make a successful return to the ring in 2017, as well as helping him lose 100Ibs.

The Fury-Davison split was seen as somewhat of a surprise, however, after Fury’s most recent fight against Swedish southpaw fighter Otto Wallin on September 14 in Las Vegas, where Fury had sustained a large cut which needed 47 stitches, John Fury, Tyson’s dad, told BT Sport: “I have seen this coming, I saw this coming.

“If he keeps hold of this team, that whole team, they will cost him his career. Ben Davison and everyone.”

Early reports have suggested that Fury is looking for a veteran trainer, but Freddie Roach is not thought to be in the running despite being involved in Fury’s training camp in his preparations for the first fight with Wilder.
