Manchester United slipped back into old habits today as they could only muster a 1-1 draw versus EvertonThe Red Devils failed to capitalise on Leicester and Chelsea dropping points yesterday, with Victor Lindelof's comical own goal on 36 minutes handing the Toffees all three points.Substitute Mason Greenwood did spare United's blushes with another well-taken goal, but the Red Devils could not push on and seal all three points.United started the game on the front foot, with Marcus Rashford and Daniel James going close in the early exchanges. However, Everton started to get a grip on the game shortly after the 15-minute mark and looked the more threatening side going forward.

And they were rewarded for their efforts with a goal gifted to them by Lindelof. Leighton Baines' corner missed everyone and bounced in off the Swedish defender.

There was a VAR review for a potential foul on David de Gea, but the goal was given despite contact on the Spaniard from Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

United started to turn the screw around the hour mark, with the visitors sitting deep and inviting pressure from the hosts.

They were eventually rewarded in the 78th minute when Greenwood fired home from the edge of the box.

But despite the teenager's input, United could not push on and find what would have been a priceless winning goal.

Greenwood has now scored more goals (7) for United than Alexis Sanchez, Memphis Depay, Radamel Falcao and Angel Di Maria.

Only Rashford (13) has scored more than the 18-year-old in all competitions. What a talent!
