Arsenal were made to look like schoolboys by Manchester City in their 3-0 defeat to Pep Guardiola’s side on Sunday.

The Gunners were 1-0 down inside 90 seconds and 3-0 down at half-time.

It was an embarrassing display from a team that is in complete disarray right now.

Mesut Ozil was angry when he came off, Alexandre Lacazette looked miserable as he sat rooted to the bench.

Arsenal fans thinking it can’t get any worse will look at their upcoming fixtures and see games at Everton and home to Chelsea and Manchester United to come.

Freddie Ljungberg has many sympathisers, although his interim spell in charge isn’t going to do him any favours as he looks to forge a career in football management.

The Swede isn’t to blame for the mess Arsenal are in but he has failed to oversee any slight improvement in the on-pitch product.

Kevin De Bruyne, who produced a superb display, broke it down with his analysis of Arsenal’s tactics.

“The attackers try to press up but when we pass their front four they don’t help the Arsenal defence,” the Belgian playmaker said, per TSN Soccer Analyst Kristian Jack.

“They always stay with four up front, except [Gabriel] Martinelli who comes a little bit more so we always get spaces all over the pitch.

“So I think it’s really difficult for the six defenders to control it because obviously you can come from everything on the pitch.”

De Bruyne and his teammates will probably have tougher challenges on the training field.

The Man City midfielder netted twice and assisted Raheem Sterling’s goal as Guardiola’s side got back on track in the league.

The defeat to Manchester United left them 14 points behind leaders Liverpool and they can’t afford to drop any more points between now and the end of the campaign.
