Sin Cara could be in legal trouble with the WWE after appearing for the wrestling promotion AAA in Mexico over the weekend.WWE released Sin Cara, real name Jorge Arias, from his contract with the company over a week ago after the former superstar asked for his release from WWE back in November.Former superstars usually have a 90-day no-compete clause with WWE once they're released from their deals, meaning they can't compete for another wrestling promotion for 90 days.Sin Cara reportedly had one of these 90-day no-compete clauses tied to his WWE contract as well, but he may have violated this clause. The former WWE star did a run-in at AAA’s Guerra de Titanes show over the weekend, where his Sin Cara name was shown on the big screen and he was referred to by that name by the announcers.

While it's not surprising to see Sin Cara in AAA, it's shocking that he has worked for another promotion so soon after being released by WWE.

According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline, via Wrestling News, Arias did not obtain permission from WWE to use the Sin Cara name at the AAA event in Mexico.

He added Arias' 90-day non-compete was active, and WWE still owns the Sin Cara trademark in Mexico and that doesn't expire until 2021, so legal troubles could be on the horizon.

Taking into account the 90-day non-compete clause, Sin Cara shouldn't be wrestling for any wrestling promotion until early March.

This means WWE could pursue legal action against Arias for violating this clause.

WWE may have allowed him to work on the show, as well as given him permission to use the name. Fingers crossed this is the case as no one wants to see Sin Cara out of wrestling action for even longer.

However, if he did use the Sin Cara name without clearing it with them, as well as wrestle for AAA without permission, we could see a legal battle between Arias and WWE very soon.
