Daniel Sturridge's fourth goal in as many games clinched a 1-1 draw for Bolton as 10-man Newcastle were denied victory.

The striker, on loan from Chelsea, struck seven minutes before the break to cancel out former Wanderers midfielder Kevin Nolan's 13th-minute opener.

However, the Magpies had to stage a concerted rearguard action to claim a draw after Ryan Taylor was dismissed for a 54th-minute two-footed tackle on Johan Elmander.
