Hall of Fame boxer Lennox Lewis has made his predictions for the upcoming Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder rematch, but he's also ranked his top three heavyweights right now.

In an interview with CompuBox TV, as per WorldBoxingNews, Lewis stated that Wilder and Fury are part of his top two heavyweights in the world.

Fury and Wilder’s long-awaited rematch will take place in Las Vegas on February 22 with the WBC title on the line.

Their first offering granted the biggest heavyweight buyrate in the United States since Lewis fought Mike Tyson. It was thought to have brought in an estimated 320,000 buys.

Fury had outboxed Wilder, but the Bronze Bomber succeeded in putting the lineal heavyweight champion of the world on the mat twice.

The most iconic of which was the final round knockdown in which Fury seemed to be out of the contest. The Gypsy King staggeringly went on to finish the fight, which was ruled a draw.

The pair have since won two fights each since their December 2018 bout, with Deontay Wilder defeating Dominic Breazeale and Luis Ortiz and Tyson Fury beating Tom Schwarz and Otto Wallin.

Lennox Lewis, a regular boxing analyst for FOX, has claimed that both men need to make improvements before the rematch.

“Exciting fight,” said Lewis when previewing the fight. “Both of them have to make adjustments and come back with a different game plan.

“There’s so much when it comes to boxing, the sweet science of it and when you analyze your opponent, what their weaknesses and strengths are. “So, it’s who can capitalize on those types of things.

“Obviously, Tyson Fury was the boxer the first fight and Deontay was the puncher. Obviously, if Tyson can come with some power and obviously if Deontay can come with a little more boxing.

“It’s just like that, who does the work, (and) who wants it the most.”

Lewis, who was, of course, the last undisputed heavyweight champion, has updated his heavyweight rankings with Anthony Joshua rounding out the top three.

My top three would have to be Deontay (Wilder), Tyson Fury and obviously Joshua. At the moment I’m going with that order.

Joshua retained his world titles by defeating Andy Ruiz Jr on points in Saudi Arabia.

Joshua is expected to face his mandatory opponents in Oleksandr Usyk and Kubrat Pulev, whilst an all-British bout with Dillian Whyte appears to be in his crosshairs as well.

It seems that a unification bout with either Fury or Wilder and the emulation of Lennox Lewis is a long way down the road yet.
