El Clasico may have been played on Wednesday night, but Cristiano Ronaldo was the name on every football fan’s lips on Thursday morning.

The former Real Madrid superstar, who left the Bernabeu for Juventus in the summer of 2018, scored one of the most extraordinary headers of his career against Sampdoria.

Ronaldo produced an astonishing 71cm leap, meaning he reached a height of 8.39ft (2.56m) in his attempt to meet Alex Sandro’s cross. He was then able to apply the finish past Emil Audero in the Sampdoria goal.

What makes the goal even more remarkable is the fact Ronaldo turns 35 in February.

How many other footballers could produce a giant leap like that? Let alone any other players in their 30s…

Following his latest ‘superhuman’ jump, other images and videos have been posted on social media showing this was no one-off from Ronaldo.

In fact, it’s only his second-highest jump. He reached 2.93m(!) in February 2013 while scoring for Madrid during a Champions League clash against Manchester United.

Incredible...

Here are some other times Ronaldo has defied gravity on the pitch…

What a player

Ronaldo is able to jump so high thanks to sheer hard work. He keeps himself in top physical condition and puts in the hours inside the gym every day to ensure he remains on top of his game.

He’s an example for every aspiring footballer.

Ronaldo has now scored 128 headers during his illustrious career. This means 18 per cent of his total career goals (712) have been scored with his head.

Since joining Juventus, 28 per cent of his 40 goals for the Old Lady have been scored with his head.

When it comes to using your head, it seems Ronaldo is on a totally different level to any other player.
