Liverpool fans were given further reason to smile on Thursday as the club completed the signing of Takumi Minamino from RB Salzburg.
The Reds swooped for the Japanese international after triggering a paltry release clause in his contract with the Austrian side.

Jurgen Klopp and his recruitment team really weren't messing about either, making sure the deal was signed, sealed and delivered with plenty of time for it to be placed neatly under the Christmas tree.
The £7.25 million fee represents an absolute steal for one of the most exciting prospects on the planet but, if reports surrounding Klopp's summer plans are to be believed, then it was necessary that Minamino came so cheap.

That is because Klopp is said to be very interested in Borussia Dortmund's attacking phenom, Jadon Sancho.

The England international has been tearing up the Bundesliga of late and would prove to be an incredible addition to Klopp's glittering squad.

He will not come cheap, however, with influential journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft reporting that the German side will demand as much as £127 million for the 19-year-old.

Any thoughts of a move in January have been put to bed as well, with Fjortoft also reporting that Sancho has been told he must stay at Dortmund until the summer at least.

There have been various rumours linking the Englishman with a move to Manchester United as well but it would seem that Liverpool are currently the front runners in the race for his signature.

Sancho has netted on 12 occasions so far this season, registering a further 13 assists at the same time.

He is undoubtedly one of the hottest properties on the planet right now and the battle for his services could prove to be a bitter one.

If Liverpool do beat off the competition to seal a Sancho deal though, then we can safely say that their squad will be absolutely terrifying.
