Zlatan Ibrahimovic seems to be linked with every football club under the sun right now.

There was quiet surprise when the Swede brought his LA Galaxy spell to a conclusion after just two season and everything seems to indicate that he's angling for a return to Europe.

Former side AC Milan was seen as Ibrahimovic's most logical next step for a long time, but clubs such as Napoli and Borussia Dortmund have also been touted in the media.

However, a new team has emerged as the favourite for Ibrahimovic's signature this week and it could see him make a shock Premier League comeback after just two years.

That's because Ibrahimovic is being sensationally linked with a January move to Everton in the wake of their decision to sack Marco Silva and potentially replace him with Carlo Ancelotti.

Ibrahimovic linked with Everton

Ibrahimovic worked alongside Ancelotti for a season at PSG and with the Italian believed to have an agreement with the Toffees, everything looks set to fall in place for a Merseyside reunion.

Well, that's according to the Telegraph, anyway.

They're reporting that Ibrahimovic 'would be interested' in a move to Goodison Park once Ancelotti is installed, which is widely predicted to take place on Monday.

Reunion with Ancelotti?

The news comes after Ibrahimovic floated the idea of a transfer to Napoli for the exact same reason before Ancelotti was given his marching orders.

Everton are in the market for a centre-forward in the winter and therefore, Ibrahimovic could be the short-term injection of goals they need to move away from the relegation zone.

The report reiterates that Jose Mourinho's interest in a reunion at Tottenham was short lived and his former employers Manchester United have dismissed the idea of a move.

Ibrahimovic will be available on a free transfer and while there might be concerns about his wage demands, the fact he took a pay-cut to play in California will most certainly bring optimism.

GIVEMESPORT's Kobe Tong says

Ancelotti and Ibrahimovic on their way to Everton... what is going on right now?

Despite Ancelotti's pedigree at top European clubs, his experience with teams lower down their leagues is more worryingly limited and big-name players will be imperative for him to succeed.

And for all intents and purposes, Ibrahimovic looks like the perfect addition.

Besides, Ibrahimovic's striking rate in America was absolutely insane and it was only three years ago that he scored 17 league goals for a United side that finished sixth in the table.

That being said, the Swede has everything to lose. He could have quietly wound out his career stateside and moving to a struggling Premier League is the definition of jumping in the deep end.

I'm just inclined to think there's still enough magic in Ibrahimovic's boots that having a supply line of Fabian Delph and Tom Davies won't jeopardise his astonishing goal-scoring record.
