WrestleMania has always hosted some special moments in WWE each and every year and WrestleMania 36 looks set to be no different, especially in the case of John Cena.

It's been a couple of months since WWE fans last saw John Cena in the ring, and even longer since he had his last match for the company.

When it comes to WrestleMania however, the 16-time world champion always does his best to turn up and be a part of the show in some way, but at WrestleMania 36, he wants to play a big role.

According to WrestleVotes, Cena wants to do "something substantial" at WrestleMania in April, though it's currently unclear as to exactly what this could entail.

Earlier this year at WrestleMania, The Leader of the Cenation didn't have a match. Instead, he brought back his Doctor of Thuganomics gimmick for a segment in the ring with Elias.

It looks like in 2020 at WrestleMania 36 in Tampa, Cena wants to do more than just appear in the ring.

WrestleVotes noted as well that Cena lives within the Tampa area as well and it seems like this WrestleMania is important to him, so he's doing everything he can in order to appear on the show.

As previously noted, WWE fans haven't seen much of Cena in the past year, as he's been focusing on his acting career.

Cena's last WWE appearance came back in July when he had a rap battle in a segment with The Usos on the Raw Reunion show.

We have to go back further than that to find his last match with the WWE, as he last wrestled for the company way back in January in a Fatal 4-Way match vs Finn Balor, Baron Corbin, and Drew McIntyre.

WWE is short of possible superstars who could face Cena at next year's Showcase of Immortals, and fans have already named a few superstars they would like to see him face.

Some of the names include Randy Orton, Samoa Joe, CM Punk, Edge, The Rock, and NXT's Velveteen Dream.

We'll have to wait and see exactly what WWE has planned for John Cena in 2020, but if reports are to be believed, the man himself is doing everything he can to be a part of one of their biggest shows of the year.
