Cristiano Ronaldo channelled his inner Michael Jordan in Juventus' 2-1 win over Sampdoria.

With the scores level, the Portuguese catapulted into the air, rising 2.56m before heading the ball in at the far post with remarkable force.

The 34-year-old has now scored 128 headers in his career. There's nobody better in the air.

This wasn't the first time he's pulled off a stunt like that - see our list of Ronaldo's most superhuman headers here - but it's perhaps his most incredible because of his age.

Ronaldo admits he doesn't feel 34 and he certainly doesn't play like a forward in the twilight of his career.

That's all down to a strict fitness regime off the pitch which has been detailed in The Sun.

It's well-documented that Ronaldo is teetotal and spends hours in the gym.

Aside from that though, it's what he does at home that really sets him apart. As well as working hard in the gym, he builds up his core with Pilates and does abs workouts in his bedroom.

The forward then sticks to a high protein diet consisting of wholegrain carbs, fruit and vegetables, with his mother making many of the dishes. Naturally, there's no sugary food and rather than eating a big dinner, Ronaldo often has six smaller dishes a day so he is reenergised for each training session.

After games, when most of his teammates are watching TV, he heads straight to the swimming pool.

That's to work on his leg and arm muscles and the worrying thing for future generations is he's often joined in the pool by Cristiano Jr. his young son, who is picking up many of his habits.

He also ensures he can quickly recover for the next game by spending a few minutes in his £50,000 Cryotherapy chamber, which he bought after learning Franck Ribery had one. Liquid nitrogen freezes him to a temperature between minus 160-200°C to reduce swelling and inflammation.

Each day then ends with eight hours sleep, going to bed early and getting up early on match days.

It all began when he was told he was too small as an 11-year-old. That's what makes Ronaldo the ultimate role-model for any aspiring footballer.
