There were ugly scenes during Hibs vs Rangers on Friday night.Steven Gerrard's side raced into a two-goal lead after just eight minutes through Ryan Kent and Joe Aribo.Jermain Defoe then gave the away side even more breathing space eight minutes after half-time.It would all kick off shortly after.Ryan Porteous, clearly frustrated at his side losing, produced an extremely poor challenge on Borna Barisic.

Barisic was left writing in agony and Porteous rightly received his marching orders.

To make matters even worse, a glass bottle was thrown at Barisic while he was on the floor.

But one man who wasn't impressed was Gerrard.

The Rangers boss went crazy on the touchline and made his feelings very clear to Hibs staff.

A scuffle ensued with Gerrard very much in the thicks of things.

Watch it below:

Gerrard was ready for a scrap there. Rangers fans would no doubt have enjoyed their manager's passion as he tried to defend his players.

Hibs assistant coach John Potter and Rangers coach Tom Culshaw were sent to the stands when both sides calmed down.

Gerrard revealed after the game that he was unhappy with Hibs staff trying to defend the challenge.

“The staff tried to defend a tackle like that. You can’t defend that. We all understand that there are bad tackles. I've done a few myself," he told BT Sport, per the Express.

"There is no problem with that but you can't defend that. So obviously our emotions are running high but I think when it all cools down both benches maybe have to have a look at their behaviour.

"I’ll certainly be speaking to my staff on that front. But we were disappointed with their reaction trying to defend that because it's a straight red. There's no two ways about it."

There were no further goals as Rangers cruised to a 3-0 victory. They have now won 14 of their 17 Scottish Premier League games and sit just two points behind fierce rivals Celtic.
