Sadio Mane stared out Rafinha at the end of their Club World Cup clash

Liverpool FC v CR Flamengo - FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2019

While other Liverpool players were celebrating their Club World Cup win on the pitch in Doha, Sadio Mane was staring out Flamengo right-back Rafinha.

Mane and the former Bayern Munich defender had been involved in some heated moments across the 120 minutes and the Liverpool man was clearly not happy with Rafinha’s behaviour.

A camera focused on the 27-year-old hunched over staring unwaveringly at his opponent, who was being confronted by Andy Robertson and Jordan Henderson.

One Twitter account captioned the video ‘Mane bout to spear Rafinha’.

The first spark between the pair flew on the verge of half-time when Mane was cynically pulled back by the veteran fullback, after realising that he could not recover.

When Rafinha wouldn’t let go Mane reacted angrily, throwing the 34-year-old to the ground in frustration.

Unfortunately for the Senegal star the referee only saw the latter of the incidents, booking Mane and awarding a free-kick to the Brazilians.

Mane and Rafinha preceded to have a war of words for some time after the foul was given, with the official doing his best to break them up.

As the half-time whistle blew the pair were still arguing over the incident, leading to Robertson pulling the winger away and telling him that he would enact revenge on his behalf.

The most contentious moment was yet to come though.

In second-half injury time Mane was put through on goal by Roberto Firmino, with the winger ready to make the Reds champions of the world.

However, Rafinha, who was bizarrely wearing a rugby scrum cap after picking up a head injury in the Copa Libertadores final, lunged in from behind, catching Mane who placed his shot wide.

The referee pointed to the spot and booked the Brazilian, but after a long VAR check he somehow came to the decision that it was actually not a foul at all, allowing Flamengo to play on from their goalkeeper.

Rafinha responded to the decision by fist pumping the air several times, just to irk Mane that slight bit more.

However, it was the Liverpool man who got the last laugh as he lifted the Club World Cup, leaving Rafinha with a runners-up medal.
