It was clear in his introductory press conference that Mikel Arteta will not accept any nonsense from his Arsenal players.“I don’t want people hiding,” Arteta vowed as he met the media for the first time. “I want people taking responsibility for the job.“Anybody that doesn’t buy into this is not good enough for this environment or culture.”Things have been allowed to get out of hand at the Emirates Stadium, with Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil both publicly expressing their frustration and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang reportedly being desperate to leave. But it seems as though Arteta will impose a stricter stance and any players who aren’t willing to ingrain themselves in his plan will be shipped.

We will get to see whether the Spaniard has any immediate impact when Arsenal take on Bournemouth on Boxing Day.

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Arsenal’s players are optimistic about the future after two training sessions with their new head coach.

And one clip of Arteta in training shows that he’s not going to stand for any nonsense and wants to improve the players.

Arsenal’s players are taking part in a quick passing drill when Alexandre Lacazette asks Arteta if he can perform flicks and back heels.

Arteta says no and tells the striker that the drill is about getting in the right body shape and positioning to find the best pass and receive the ball.

The 37-year-old also reportedly stopped rondos whenever players were flicking the ball.

“You don’t do this during the match, so why are you doing it now?” he apparently told his players.

Arsenal have lacked discipline for a very long time but it seems like Arteta is going to try hard to bring it back.

The Gunners posted a five-minute video of his first training session on their YouTube page.

It will be very interesting to see how the Gunners look when they travel to Bournemouth on Boxing Day.

Arteta has learnt under Arsene Wenger and Pep Guardiola and is regarded as one of the brightest young minds in the game.

He may very well be Arsenal’s saviour.
