Manchester United are an absolute mess at the moment.

Despite spending massively in the past few years, the Red Devils just aren't performing up to expectations.

Their latest disappointment came on the weekend when they travelled to Watford on the back of some impressive results.

However, despite Watford sitting rock bottom of the Premier League table, United succumbed to an embarrassing loss.

A howler from David de Gea gave Nigel Pearson's side the lead, before Troy Deeney netted from the penalty spot to give Watford a 2-0 victory.

That leaves them in eighth place, having won just six from their opening 18 games.

They have accumulated 25 points and sit 24 points behind leaders, Liverpool.

It really must be frustrating to be a United fan.

Eric Cantona played for the Red Devils for six years in the 1990's and has remained a fan of the club ever since.

The Frenchman has come out with some very strange comments in the past. He just doesn't care what people seem to think about him.

And he's just come up with another incredible quote when explaining what it's like to watch United in 2019.

"Manchester United occupies a very special place in my heart," he tells Otro.

"But watching United play now, it's a bit like making love as an old man... you try as hard as you can but at the end of the day, everyone is a bit disappointed."

Another classic comment from Cantona. He did have some positive words to say about his club.

"But they will be back because they are the biggest club in the world."

He then went on to joke that his comments were just a metaphor and was not speaking from personal experience.

Wow. Never change, Eric.
