BT Sport have revealed their top 10 UFC knockouts of 2019, and it serves as a reminder just how many good finishes there have been this year.

Number 10 saw the first of two female entries and one from the UFC 237 main event in Rio de Janeiro.

Jessica Andrade claimed the UFC women’s strawweight championship with a devastating slam and punch combo on home turf. How Rose Namajunas didn’t break her neck is something else.

Second on the list is from UFC Fight Night 153 when a vicious first-round kick courtesy of Aleksandar Rakic sent Jimi Manuwa seeing stars and tumbling backwards to the mat.

In at eight is the ESPN televised card on March 30 where, in the main event in a lightweight bout, it took a right hook of crippling proportions to send Edson Barboza flying to the mat. Justin Gaethje followed up in his celebrations with a backwards somersault from the top of the cage, perhaps more impressive than the knockout itself!

At UFC 235 we find number seven on the list and, on the preliminary card, Johnny Walker took out Misha Cirkunov with a jumping knee that Jorge Masvidal would be proud of. Speaking of, Masvidal victim Ben Askren also fought on the card. More on that knockout later.

At six and the second women’s knockout on the list was Valentina Shevchenko’s defence of her Women’s flyweight championship with a kick upside the head that meant lights out for Jessica Eye.

The next two entries saw overhand strikes that caused blackouts for the victims. In fifth, Ottman Azaitar sending Teemu Packalen to the ground with a delicious right and then Masvidal putting Darren Till down with a beautiful combo. Spoiler: it’s not the last Masvidal entry on this list.

But first, taking the bronze medal Kevin Lee and his wonderfully timed kick and punch combination that put Gregor Gillespie to sleep rather uncomfortably against the cage wall. Oh and a downed punch just for good measure, not what you want when catching forty winks.

Also on the podium Anthony Pettis for his main event knockout from UFC Fight Night 148 when he surprised Stephen Thompson with an insane jumping punch.

Much of the audience were also left surprised by the finish. Roman Reigns would have been proud of that one.

And taking the gold? Well it couldn’t really be anybody else, could it?

Masvidal at UFC 239 with one of the more flamboyant knockouts in UFC history. Five seconds into the first round was when Askren crumpled to the mat after a vicious running knee from Masvidal.

Two hammer punches later and Masvidal was undoubtedly the winner. One of the biggest knockouts in UFC history, one to rival Conor McGregor’s KO of Jose Aldo back in 2015.
