Liverpool youngsters Suso and Daniel Pacheco showed their potential with a goal apiece in the latest reserves outing last night.

The Spanish pair have been impressing for John McMahon's second string at Anfield, and their goals helped fire Liverpool to the top of the Barclays Premier Reserve League North.

Suso opened the scoring after just 25 minutes against Blackburn, adding to his reputation as a star of the future on Merseyside,

"Suso is a class act, there's no doubt about it," McMahon told the official Liverpool website back in January.

"He is a very clever player in the mould of Dani Pacheco and he is very exciting to watch."

It was that very man who doubled the Reds' lead in the 83rd minute, with a quality strike securing the 2-0 victory for a young side that also included Tom Ince, Jay Spearing and Gerardo Bruna.

Pacheco has tasted first team opportunities in the past for Liverpool, although is currently out of the fold following the arrival of Luis Suarez from Ajax in January.

Impressive displays for the second string could earn a recall however, and the 20-year-old will be keen to add to his five Barclays Premier League appearances to date.

Suso is yet to make an appearance for the first xi, but the 17-year-old is heading in the right direction and is keen to spend many years at the club.

"I feel very happy. I want to be here a lot of years. I want to go on and play for Liverpool's first team, playing in every game."
