Liverpool are wearing their gold ‘FIFA World Champions’ badge against Wolves. The Reds were granted permission to wear the special badge in one match this season to celebrate their recent Club World Cup triumph in Qatar. The badge includes an image of the FIFA Club World Cup trophy on a gold background and is placed on the centre of the Liverpool shirt.Jurgen Klopp’s side beat Monterrey in the semi-final before beating Flamengo in the final after extra-time.They became only the second English winners of the competition after Manchester United. However, the Premier League prevented the Red Devils from wearing the badge because they deny requests to make alterations to a team's kit during the season, other than for charitable purposes. However, Liverpool asked the Premier League if they were allowed to wear it on one occasion as they believed it would reflect well on the league as a whole.

They will also wear the badge during their Champions League campaign both this and next season.

A FIFA spokesperson has said: “As per the usage guidelines, the winning team can wear the FIFA World Champions Badge from the day it becomes champions up to and including the final of the next edition of the tournament.”
