Footballers are often given a tough time by the public for their behaviour.

As bizarre as it may sound, being a super-rich, global superstar is not an easy gig in the slightest - and yes, I really do mean that.

Their lives are watched so closely by those who both idolise and criticise them that even the smallest slip is turned into an entire debacle.

However, there are a lot of times when footballers get it absolutely right.

Their station as household names can easily bring so much joy into stormy situations and it always brings a smile to the face when they use their position to brighten someone else's day.

As one of the best-known figures on the planet, Cristiano Ronaldo has done his fair share of plastering smiles across the faces of those who need it most and his recent trip to Dubai was no different.

Ronaldo, who is in the UAE to headline the Dubai International Sports Conference as a guest speaker, ran into a young, disabled fan in the lobby of a hotel.

Ali Amir - who has no legs - has previously stated his desire to meet the Portuguese star and his wish finally came true when the pair had a brief kick-about.

Ronaldo then gave Ali a massive hug before posing for pictures.

The 34-year-old has been making the most of the European winter break in the Dubai sun but will need to hit the ground running on his return.

For the first time in a very long time, Juventus are sat in second in the Serie A standings with Inter Milan pipping them into top spot on goal difference.

A tricky tie with Lyon also awaits in the Champions League and Ronaldo will need to be at his best to ensure Juventus stay in the hunt for European glory.

After some much needed rest though, you can be certain Ronaldo will be raring to go for the rest of the season.
