Arsenal somehow threw away a 1-0 lead to lose 2-1 to Chelsea in Mikel Arteta’s first home game in charge. The home side scored in the 13th-minute thanks to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s header from a corner.Arsenal dominated the early proceedings and even forced Frank Lampard into an early change, bringing off Emerson for Jorginho and changing his formation. The Chelsea boss probably didn’t expect Jorginho to have quite the impact that he actually had on the match.Earlier in the second half, the Italian midfielder was booked. Then, with a little more than 10 minutes left, it looked as though he was going to get sent off for pulling back Matteo Gunedouzi. However, referee Craig Pawson let him off - something which angered the Arsenal players.Pawson had already shown seven yellow cards - many of which were dished out for the exact same offence.

Alexandre Lacazette was booked for dissent but Jorginho got lucky.

Six minutes later, Jorginho was celebrating equaliser for the Blues after Bernd Leno’s howler.

Then, with just a few minutes left, Tammy Abraham completed a snatch and grab win for Lampard’s side.

Arsenal should never have allowed the match to slip from their grasps but do they have a case that Jorginho should have received a yellow card for his tug on Guendouzi?

If there was any consistency in Pawson’s refereeing, then yes.
