Conor McGregor is just a couple of weeks away from his return to the Octagon for UFC vs Donald Cerrone, and he looks physically ready for the fight.

Conor McGregor will return to the UFC Octagon on January 18 in the main event of UFC 246 to take on Donald Cerrone at welterweight.

Unlike his previous fights at lightweight and featherweight, McGregor has had no need to cut weight ahead of this welterweight clash.

As a result, Notorious is looking beefed up and ready for his return to the Octagon at UFC 246, which will be his first fight in over a year.

The Irishman has packed on the muscle mass, and he looks ripped and perfectly sized for his welterweight clash against The Cowboy next month.

McGregor has fought twice at welterweight before, as he currently holds a 1-1 record in the weight class, with both fights being against Nate Diaz in 2016.

He's admitted before that he was undersized in his welterweight debut against Diaz, but that doesn't look to be the case now as he prepares to take on Cerrone.

When he last fought at welterweight vs Diaz, the Irishman’s cardio seemed to suffer due to the weight he put on to fight in the division. We'll have to wait and see if the same issues pop up once more against The Cowboy.

McGregor's fight next month will be his first fight since he was submitted by Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018 at UFC 229. He tried to reclaim the UFC Lightweight title in this fight.

UFC 229: Khabib v McGregor

Reports have stated the plan is for Notorious to fight three times in 2020. First, he'll take on Cerrone, before potentially fighting against Jorge Masvidal, and then finally having his rematch vs Nurmagomedov.

If McGregor is able to defeat Cerrone at UFC 246 on January 18, he'll be able to execute on his plan to finally meet Khabib inside the Octagon.

We'll have to wait and see if the extra muscle mass he has packed on in preparation for his first fight in over a year will pay off as he aims to recapture UFC gold by this time in 12 months time.
