VAR marred what should have been an intriguing encounter between Liverpool and Wolves at Anfield.

The Reds ultimately took another step towards the Premier League title with a 1-0 victory, courtesy of Sadio Mane's first-half goal.

That strike was initially ruled out by the on-field officials for an Adam Lallana handball, before the decision was overturned.

Replays showed fairly conclusively that Lallana had in fact used his shoulder.

Yet minutes later, on the stroke of half-time, VAR used images which were totally *inconclusive* to rule out Pedro Neto's equaliser.

Jonny was adjudged to be offside in the build-up by a matter of millimetres.

Not only did it rob Neto, a 19-year-old, of his first Premier League goal, it may also have cost the visitors a point - not to mention the possible ramifications for the title race.

Wolves players, as well as Nuno, were quite understandably furious in the aftermath.

However, there are worrying reports out of Anfield emerging which suggest may have lost his cool gone too far.

While it's unclear exactly when the alleged incident happened, the full-back is accused of making over-zealous contact with a ball boy while trying to get the ball back.

Per the BBC, Liverpool are now investigating and will give their feedback to Wolves before the Molineux outfit look into it further.

"The club will follow established protocols in terms of gathering the relevant information," Liverpool said in a statement.

"While that process takes place we will be making no further comment."
