After months of uncertainty, the highly anticipated rematch between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury is set to hit our box office screens on February 22.

It will come over a year after the two first went toe-to-toe back in December 2018. The result ended in a controversial draw, with many pundits, fans and current fighters all strongly believing that the Brit should have claimed the WBC championship in America.

Despite being knocked down twice in the fight, due to the relentless power of Wilder’s swing, Fury ran to the corner of the ropes to celebrate what he – and the majority of people – thought was a title-winning performance.

Both have had their own fights in the meantime, with Wilder looking much the more convincing of the two after disposing of Dominic Breazeale in double-quick time.

Fury hasn’t looked as convincing after he suffered a deep wound in a points victory over Otto Wallin in September.

The outcome of the rematch is well and truly in the balance, with both fighters confident that they will better the other.

Whilst it may seem impossible to predict, Fight Night Champion’s simulation mode has had a go… and the result is very interesting.

A YouTube channel named ‘Boxing Fight Simulations’ created characters to resemble the actual fighters to ensure that the game could make its best possible judgement.

In the early rounds, Fury’s jab caused Wilder problems as it did in the first real meeting between the two. After the first three rounds, the game had given Fury every single round.

Fury was cut in the fourth round and was caught in the sixth with a huge right hand from Wilder. The hit, however, didn’t send the Gypsy King to the canvas as it did in December.

In turn, the fight followed the structure of the first and went the distance. The difference this time, though, was that Fury won via a unanimous decision. In fact, two judges scored Fury a perfect 120, and the other gave Wilder just one round.

Fury avoided the deadly weapon of Wilder’s right fist in the simulation, but might not be so lucky when the two meet in Las Vegas.

A unanimous points win has become a somewhat trademark victory for Fury and isn’t the most unlikely prediction from the popular boxing game.
