A version of the Rugby Premiership table of the decade has been released on Facebook, and it features 15 teams with Saracens leading the way by quite some distance.

Saracens sit top with 680 points achieved from 204 fixtures, which helped them amass half the league titles from the decade as well with five. No one else in the league has won more than one.

In second place with a respectable 623 is Exeter Chiefs, with Leicester Tigers rounding out the top three.

Interestingly, all the teams in positions one to nine have played 205 or 204 games, meaning they were in the league for the entire decade.

At the bottom is Leeds Carnegie, who are slightly hindered by the fact that they only played 22 games in the top-flight this decade, collecting 23 points in the process.

Something of note from the table is that Bath - who are fifth - sit above Harlequins for points, but Harlequins hold a title and Bath do not.

The points difference is staggering as well, with Saracens outscoring the second-placed team by near 1,000 points despite having scored 20 tries less. This shows that sometimes having a reliable kicker and a solid defence is actually the way to secure the points.

There has been some uproar in the comments section of the picture with a few fans stating that a ‘points-per-game played’ table would be a more accurate representation of things.

Some Gloucester fans are angered because they had been placed in first on a few occasions at the end of the season, only to have the title 'stolen' in the play-offs.

Despite all of this, it is clear that a decade in rugby union was dominated by one team with Saracens comfortably wearing the crown at the end of 2019.

Who will be atop the table of the decade when 2029 rolls around?
