Wrestling fans in the United Kingdom have been clamouring for it, and BT Sport have finally confirmed the news that they want to hear.

Just one day before 2020 begins, the broadcasters that will be the home of WWE for the foreseeable future in the UK have revealed that they've secured the rights to show NXT, the highly-successful brand created by Triple H.

The UK currently only gets NXT 24 hours on the WWE Network, after it's shown live in the United States on cable television, but all that is about to change.

BT Sport have confirmed that the show will be broadcast LIVE every week at 1am on a Thursday morning, which will be welcome news for fans who were begging for them to bring the brand back to television.

Not only will NXT be shown, but its UK-specific version will also be coming to BT Sport, which is an absolutely huge move for the brand and will give more exposure to the likes of Tyler Bate, WALTER and many more.

It's clear to see that BT Sport are going all-out to push WWE as being a big deal, with their social media promotional work seeing Sasha Banks and football legend Gary Lineker having an unexpected interaction.

Per BT Sport's official press release, BT's critically-acclaimed No Filter series will bring a behind-the-scenes look of the latest tour of the United Kingdom in November, and that will be broadcast at 8am and 11:30am on January 1.

The WWE Network 24 specials featuring Kofi Kingston and Becky Lynch will also be broadcast back-to-back on the same morning, at 8:30am and 9:30am respectively, with the schedule being fully loaded with WWE content as the new year begins.

Sky may have been the home of WWE for over 30 years, but BT are already making gigantic steps before even broadcasting sports entertainment, and this news means it's an exciting time for wrestling fans in the UK.
