A new year and new decade will bring new horizons for wrestling around the world, and it is a big year for WWE's biggest competition - All Elite Wrestling.

They are now three months into their existence as a direct competitor against Vince McMahon's company, and for a starting point they're not doing too badly.

Dynamite is always neck-and-neck with NXT on a weekly basis but with WWE's third brand pulling away in recent weeks, they will probably be looking to freshen up the product as 2020 arrives.

We already know the win-loss records will reset, meaning Chris Jericho could have a brand-new unexpected challenger at Revolution on February 29, and many will be hoping it is Jon Moxley.

One man who won't be getting a title shot anytime soon is Executive VP Cody Rhodes, who lost those privileges when he was defeated by Jericho at Full Gear.

But he has gained a helping hand after the announcement that a wrestling legend has joined AEW.

Signing as Cody's 'Head Coach' is none-other than Arn Anderson, one of the esteemed Four Horseman and a WWE Hall of Famer when he was inducted in 2012 along with his fellow stablemates, including Ric Flair.

Anderson is no stranger to AEW after he made an appearance at All Out in August, where he assisted Cody in his match with Shawn Spears, the latter having aligned himself with a legend in the form of Tully Blanchard.

Speaking on bringing Anderson into the company, Rhodes said: "I still want to collect all the accolades I can and dominate the singles division. That's why I'm bringing in Arn Anderson as my personal advisor and head coach.

"He has been in business with my family for over three decades. Having been a wrestler throughout so many different generations of talent, he understands what ingredients it takes to look beyond the horizon and produce the best content and results."

A wrestler having a 'Head Coach' further shows that AEW has a more sporting feel to it than WWE, and it makes it very different to any other mainstream promotion.

Anderson will be present at ringside for Cody's match with Darby Allin on Dynamite this week, and it'll be interesting to see how big a role he plays in getting physical with anyone else on the roster.
