What is the best individual performance from a player in a Premier League match this decade?We all have our own personal favourites; however, Sky Sports have produced a definitive answer.They’ve checked 80,000 player performances since the start of the 2010/11 season and ranked the top 100 displays using the Sky Sports Power Rankings, which measures performances on 35 matchday statistics.You can see the top 100 in full on their website.But we thought we’d look a little more closely at the top 25. 25. Ashley Young (Man Utd) v Arsenal | August 2011

Probably his best ever performance for Manchester United, Ashley Young scored two absolute belters and set up three more goals as the Red Devils hammered Arsenal 8-2 in one of the most shocking games of the Premier League era.

If you had him in your Fantasy Premier League team that afternoon, you were laughing.

24. Christian Benteke (Aston Villa) v QPR | April 2015

Back when Christian Benteke was decent, the Belgian striker scored a brilliant hat-trick against QPR to keep Aston Villa out of the relegation zone.

His final, a fine free-kick, earned a precious point for the hosts at Villa Park.

23. Eden Hazard (Chelsea) v Sunderland | December 2013

Eden Hazard scored two stunning goals and provided an assist for Frank Lampard as Chelsea sealed a 4-3 win away at Sunderland on a cold evening in December 2013.

22. Chris Baird (Fulham) v Stoke City | December 2010

Yes, Chris Baird!

The defender scored both goals in a 2-0 win away at Stoke City to move Fulham out of the relegation zone.

21. Didier Drogba (Chelsea) v West Brom | August 2010

Chelsea, who’d sealed the Premier League title the previous season, began the 2010/11 campaign by thrashing West Brom 6-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Didier Drogba helped himself to a hat-trick in the rout.

20. Peter Odemwingie (West Brom) v Wolves | February 2012

West Brom thumped Black Country rivals Wolves 5-1 in February 2012, with Peter Odemwingie getting himself on the scoresheet three times.

The Nigerian striker went on the win the Premier League Player of the Month award.

19. Carlos Tevez (Man City) v Norwich | April 2012

Another hat-trick hero, Carlos Tevez netted three of Manchester City’s goals as they thrashed Norwich City 6-1 at Carrow Road.

He may have been atrocious for Man Utd, but never forget how good Alexis Sanchez was for Arsenal.

One of his best performances came in a 5-1 win away at West Ham in December 2016, when the Chilean scored a superb hat-trick.

17. Leighton Baines (Everton) v West Ham | September 2013

Leighton Baines was one of the Premier League’s best free-kick takers during the early-to-mid-2010s and the left-back scored two beauties in a 3-2 win over West Ham in September 2013.

16. Louis Saha (Everton) v Blackpool | February 2011

One of a handful of players to score four goals in a single Premier League match, Louis Saha was the star of the show as Everton beat Blackpool 5-3 in a thrilling game at Goodison Park.

15. Santi Cazorla (Arsenal) v Reading | December 2012

The Spanish maestro Santi Cazorla turned on the style away at Reading in December 2012, scoring a hat-trick in a convincing 5-2 win for Arsenal.

14. Gareth Bale (Tottenham) v West Ham | February 2013

Gareth Bale was unstoppable around this period of time, months before he left Tottenham for Real Madrid.

One of his most memorable performances came in this game against West Ham. The Welshman scored the opening goal and then struck an unbelievable winner in stoppage-time as Spurs sealed a 3-2 victory at Upton Park.

13. Wayne Rooney (Man Utd) v Arsenal | August 2011

Back to Man Utd’s famous 8-2 win over Arsenal, Wayne Rooney scored a hat-trick in that game.

The striker beat Wojciech Szczesny with two free-kicks and a penalty to complete his treble.

12. Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal) v Leicester | September 2015

Leicester went on to win the Premier League title this season, but they were taught a footballing lesson by Arsenal early in the campaign.

The Gunners romped to a 5-2 win at the King Power Stadium, with Alexis Sanchez netting a hat-trick.

11. Romelu Lukaku (Everton) v Bournemouth | February 2017

A crazy game at Goodison Park in February 2017 saw Everton run out 6-3 winners against Bournemouth.

Romelu Lukaku scored four goals in the 1st, 29th, 83rd and 84th minutes to further enhance his status as one of the Premier League’s best finishers.

10. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) v Watford | March 2018

Mohamed Salah also bagged four goals when Liverpool thrashed Watford 5-0 at Anfield in March 2018.

The Egyptian forward, in his debut season with the Reds, went on to set a new record for number of goals (32) in a single Premier League season.

9. Harry Kane (Tottenham) v Stoke City | February 2017

Harry Kane scored his third hat-trick in nine games as Tottenham hammered Stoke City 4-0 at White Hart Lane in February 2017.

8. Sergio Aguero (Man City) v Leicester | February 2018

Sergio Aguero was too hot for Leicester to handle in February 2018.

The world-class Argentine scored four second-half goals to inspire Man City to a 5-1 win.

7. Edin Dzeko (Man City) v Tottenham | August 2011

This was a superb individual performance from Edin Dzeko, who scored four goals as Man City thumped Tottenham 5-1 in north London.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina forward was rather underrated during his time in England.

6. Georginio Wijnaldum (Newcastle) v Norwich | October 2015

It’s not often that a Newcastle United player scores four goals in one game - but Georginio Wijnaldum did just that against Norwich at St James’ Park in October 2015.

The Dutch midfielder, who would join Liverpool the following summer, helped the Magpies seal a 6-2 win.

5. Dimitar Berbatov (Man Utd) v Blackburn | November 2010

Dimitar Berbatov joined the small list of players - Aguero, Jermaine Defoe, Alan Shearer and Andy Cole - to score five goals in a single Premier League match.

He put Blackburn to the sword almost single-handedly in November 2010, inspiring Man Utd to a 7-1 win at Old Trafford.

4. Harry Kane (Tottenham) v Leicester | May 2017

Kane showed Leicester, winners of the Premier League title 12 months earlier, no mercy at the King Power Stadium in May 2017.

The England international scored once in the first half and three times after the break to help Tottenham batter their opponents 6-1.

3. Luis Suarez (Liverpool) v Norwich | September 2012

Luis Suarez seemed to destroy Norwich whenever he faced them.

The Uruguayan scored a superb hat-trick for Liverpool in a 5-2 win at Carrow Road in September 2012.

2. Sergio Aguero (Man City) v Newcastle | October 2015

Aguero produced the second-best individual performance of the decade when Man City spanked Newcastle 6-1 at the Etihad Stadium in October 2015.

The Argentine scored his first goal of the afternoon in the 42nd minute and then scored FOUR more goals by the 62nd. Madness.

1. Luis Suarez (Liverpool) v Norwich | December 2013

But the best performance of the decade, according to Sky Sport’s stats, goes to Suarez against, you guessed it… Norwich.

The South American netted four stunning goals, including a magnificent 40-yard lob, as Liverpool beat the Canaries 5-1 at Anfield.

Norwich must have been the most relieved team in the country when Suarez left Liverpool for Barcelona in the summer of 2014!
