As we enter and begin the new year, it's time to look ahead and what could be in store for boxing fans in the year 2020.

It was a memorable 2019 for the sport, with new ventures stealing the headlines in KSI and Logan Paul locking horns and swapping YouTube for boxing, but it was also memorable for huge fights from actual boxers.

Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz Jr did battle twice, Deontay Wilder continued his reign as WBC champion, Oleksandr Usyk made a successful jump up to heavyweight by winning his debut, whilst plenty more boxers established themselves on the global stage.

However, 2019 is done and is now in the past, so it's time to look forward and wait in hope and excitement for what 2020 could bring.

Every boxing fan has their own desires for what this year should bring, and everyone has their dream fight they want to see happen in the next 12 months, and that's why Sky Sports have ran a poll on their website asking fans exactly that.

'Which fight do you most want to see in 2020?'

The poll comes with five options and then a sixth option which just states 'Another fight?'.

As of writing this article, as can be seen in the screenshot below, a staggering 22,551 people have voted in the poll and the winner of it has a whopping 78% of the votes!

Of course, that winner is Anthony Joshua squaring off with the winner of Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury 2.

That rematch takes place on February 22, and 78% of the voters on the poll expressed their interest in seeing AJ share the ring with the eventual winner.

No surprise that has the most votes as it will easily go down as one of the biggest fights in boxing history, and it will finally unify the entire division, which is what everyone has apparently wanted since the beginning.

Coming in second in the poll is Errol Spence Jr vs Terence Crawford, with 7% of the voters wanting to see that fight happen, whilst 6% want to see a trilogy fight between Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin.

Vasyl Lomachenko vs Gervonta Davis earned a measly 4%, whilst Joshua Buatsi vs Anthony Yarde got just 1%.

The poll was clear and obvious - most boxing fans want to see the heavyweight clash, but it just goes to show how exciting 2020 could be for the sport!
