Peter Wright's WhatsApp message days before PDC World Championship

2020 William Hill World Darts Championship - Final

We've all heard of predictive text, but Peter Wright has given it a whole new meaning after a WhatsApp message he sent a few days before the PDC World Championship got underway has emerged.

Wright, who finally got his hands on the trophy after plenty of near misses, defeated Dutch superstar Michael van Gerwen in the final 7-3, much to the shock of those in attendance at the Ally Pally and all the millions watching around the world.

Not only did he get his hands on the trophy, he also bagged a cool £500,000 for getting the job done.

It's been a few days since the dramatic final, but Wright has made the headlines again this morning after a WhatsApp message he sent emerged.

The message was sent by him a couple of days before the entire tournament began, which makes it look even more remarkable now.

He was messaging darts maker Red Dragon when he complimented them on his arrows and urged them to back him to win the tournament.

Wright text a maker from the company saying: "Love the new flights, using 21gram long barrel. Back me to win the world's!!! And everything else next year! I'm getting rid of all my other darts!!!!!

"They look amazing and will sell really well they feel like a glove. Thanks buddy, you've made me a very happy darts future world champion"

See what we mean when we say he's taken predictive text to a whole new level!

Let's hope they listened to Wright and put money on him winning the title, and maybe we should all start backing him in future competitions too with these brand new arrows.

'Snakebite' is renowned for tinkering with his darts, but it seems like he's finally found a set he's happy with, and after the final he said: “My darts set-up has changed. Lee at Red Dragon Darts has done a fantastic job.

“I did a drawing, sent it out to him and then he made the darts. I had them ten days before the Worlds.

“I sent him a message back saying ‘Thank you for making me the darts that will win me the world champs’.
