You could make a strong argument that there has been no better Universal Champion in WWE history than the current Universal Champion, 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt.

Wyatt won the Universal title back in October when he defeated Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel in a Falls Count Anywhere match that could not be stopped for any reason.

This match came after their match at Hell in a Cell earlier in the month was universally panned, but The Fiend has been on the ascension ever since debuting in WWE, so this poor outing wasn't going to stop him.

Since his title win, he's gone on to successfully defend the title against Daniel Bryan at Survivor Series as The Fiend, as well as against The Miz at TLC as Bray Wyatt.

Bryan will take on The Fiend again for the Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble, and if he's able to retain his title, he could find out who his next opponent will be depending on who wins the men's Royal Rumble.

In a world where Wyatt does retain his title at the Royal Rumble vs Bryan, let's take a look at and try to predict who the next five Universal Champions will be, and how they will win the title.

Roman Reigns

Given that Roman Reigns is the favourite to win the men's Royal Rumble match later this month, he very well could go on to challenge Wyatt for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania in April.

The Big Dog has grown on WWE fans over the past year and has truly become liked by all following his battle with leukaemia. He's barely sniffed at a major title picture, so this would be the right time for him to return to the top.

While some fans might be sad to see The Fiend defeated, the loss would allow Wyatt to take some deserving time off after what would be a fantastic 10-month run since his return last July.

Daniel Bryan

The next man to try and capture the Universal title should be the one that has come the closest over the past couple of months, that being Daniel Bryan.

WWE can use WrestleMania season to build Bryan up again to the point where he is the strongest superstar on SmackDown outside of the title picture, red hot entering and leaving The Showcase of Immortals.

Perhaps a feud with King Corbin at WrestleMania where he comes out on top would be a good way to book him back into the Universal title picture after suffering losses to Wyatt. Money in the Bank would be the perfect spot for this match, which leads us to our next superstar.

King Corbin

It's fair to say that, ever since winning King of the Ring, King Corbin has been one of the best heels on SmackDown, despite the debatable 'dog reference filled' booking during his feud over the past couple of months with Reigns.

Corbin could win the Money in the Bank ladder match for the second time in his career thanks to a little help from his friends, Dolph Ziggler and The Revival, cashing it in on the same night, or in the weeks after, on Bryan to win the Universal title.

The King of the Ring winner could then go on to feud vs Bryan, Reigns, and Braun Strowman too who will help elevate his status as one of WWE's top heels in recent years, before he bites off more than he can chew.

John Cena

Enter a returning John Cena seeking the 17th world title reign that will see him pass Ric Flair for the most world title reigns in WWE history.

Cena would look to set the record straight with Corbin, who now thinks WWE belongs to him since he's been Universal Champion for several months now.

With it being such a historic title reign, Cena deserves to hold the title for a couple of months, so the perfect spot for him to win it would be at the 2021 Royal Rumble, before later defending the title at WrestleMania 37 vs...

Big E

When it comes to WWE superstars, Big E is the full package. He has the mic skills, the charisma, the size, and in-ring skills. The only thing left for him to achieve really on Raw or SmackDown is a world title reign.

Many fans and superstars alike have said it's only a matter of time before Big E finally wins a big one. Even Cena is a fan of Big E. If you don't believe us, go have a look at Cena's Instagram!

Cena would love more than anything to put Big E over in a stellar match at WrestleMania to help The New Day member rise to the top and capture the Universal title on WWE's grandest stage.
