Women's Football: Emma Mitchell joins Tottenham Hotspur on loan from Arsenal

Arsenal has announced that defender Emma Mitchell will be joining Tottenham Hotspur immediately.

The Scottish international joined Arsenal in July 2013 and has since completed an amazing 119 appearances for the North London side. 

Mitchell will join the North London rivals immediately until the end of the season. She will therefore not be eligible to play against Arsenal in any competitions or league fixtures.

“Everyone at Arsenal wishes Emma all the best for her time with Tottenham” reported Arsenal.com.

Emma Mitchell will wear the number 21 for Spurs, and has stated that she “believes it was the best opportunity” for herself and will allow her to “get some minutes under my belt”.

Mitchell said: “I’m really pleased to be at the Club, it’s going to be a new challenge for me and I’m looking forward to being part of the squad and meeting the girls ahead of a big game against Manchester City on Sunday”. 

The Blue’s are currently 7th in their first season in the Women’s Super League, holders of the Women’s Super League: Arsenal remain at the top of the table.
