Manchester United have entered the new decade with a chance to start afresh.

They might have started the 2010s with two Premier League titles, but they finished it looking to turn a new page after rocky spells under David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho.

But as much as the Red Devils will want to focus on the future under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now, that doesn't mean there wasn't any fond memories from the 10 years that came before.

And no matter how poorly or successfully your club is performing, you can guarantee that spectacular goals will come along at some point and United are certainly no different.

So, bearing that in mind, United decided to pick 11 different strikes between 2010 and 2019 and allow fans to decide which of them should be considered the club's goal of the decade.

United's goals of the decade

It proved to be a major success with over 90,000 supporters casting their vote on the official app - and you can check out their full rankings down below:

11. Antonio Valencia v Blackburn Rovers - 1%

An incredibly underrated strike in the United pantheon, Valencia's explosive finish - executed from a near-impossible angle - was crucial in the club's 2010-11 Premier League title win.

10. Nemanja Matic v Crystal Palace - 1%

If you're surprised by this goal's inclusion, then you're not alone, but perhaps Matic's volley has been overrated by United fans viewing that comeback at Palace through rose-tinted glasses.

9. Andreas Pereira v Southampton - 1%

There can be no doubting this was an impressive finish by Pereira, but was it seriously worthy of a place in United's top 10 goals of the decade? Really?

8. Henrikh Mkhitaryan v Sunderland - 2%

A goal only brushed under the carpet by a certain other scorpion kick, Mkhitaryan might have struggled at Old Trafford, but fans will always have this moment of genius to remember him by.

7. Juan Mata v Liverpool - 3%

Mata has produced some brilliant moments in a United shirt, but nothing will compare to the bicycle kick that ensured Liverpool's home was christened 'Juanfield' for the day.

6. Anthony Martial v Liverpool - 4%

Martin Tyler erupted with an unforgettable "OH YESSSS" after Martial slalomed his way through the Liverpool defence to score an impeccable solo goal on his United debut.

5. Wayne Rooney v West Ham - 4%

When you volley home from the halfway line in front of David Beckham, you know you're worthy of a goal of the decade nomination. This won't be Rooney's last appearance...

4. Wayne Rooney v Arsenal - 7%

This goal is the absolute definition of United under Ferguson. Rooney bagged his 100th Premier League strike when the Red Devils romped from one end of the Emirates pitch to the other.

3. Marcus Rashford v Chelsea - 13%

The only non-Premier League goal on this list, Rashford gave everybody flashbacks of Cristiano Ronaldo - who surely deserved the 2000s award - when he converted this knuckle-ball strike.

2. Robin van Persie v Aston Villa - 14%

Van Persie must have known he'd made history when he crashed home this Premier League-winning volley, meeting Rooney's pinpoint long-ball as it dropped out of the sky.

1. Wayne Rooney v Man City - 50%

Duh. I mean, seriously, what else could be worthy? It's no wonder over half of United fans selected what was voted as the Premier League's greatest ever goal as their own number one.

GIVEMESPORT's Kobe Tong says

Ok, sure, Rooney taking the gold medal is an absolute no-brainer and there can be no worthier runner-up than Van Persie, but some of these nominees were downright bizarre.

Sure, strikes like Pereira's against Southampton and Matic's at Palace are unquestionably decent, but here's a list of goals that didn't make the nominees which are irrefutably better:

Dimitar Berbatov vs Liverpool (2010), Berbatov vs Blackburn Rovers, Nani vs Chelsea (2011), Angel Di Maria vs Leicester City (2014) and Rooney vs Stoke City (2016). Need any more?

Oh, and just because Olivier Giroud managed to score a better scorpion kick one week afterwards, why on earth is Mkhitaryan's strike being so badly underrated?

Apparently scoring your goal of the decade contender against Liverpool is some sort of cheat code... then again, United fans need to feel they're getting something over the Reds right now.
