Takumi Minamino is set to make his Liverpool debut against Everton in the FA Cup this afternoon.Jurgen Klopp snapped up the Japanese star after he impressed in RB Salzburg’s two Champions League group stage fixtures against the Reds earlier this season.Liverpool triggered the forward’s £7.25 million release clause in what appears to be a fantastic bargain. We doubt too many Liverpool fans had even heard of Minamino before this season unless they’re regular watchers of the Austrian Bundesliga. Therefore, the 24-year-old will arrive at Anfield as something of a surprise package.

So ahead of his potential debut against Everton, fans will probably be searching for highlight videos to see exactly what he can do.

What are his strengths?

Well, if one clip from a Japanese gameshow is anything to do by, Minamino is pretty good at volleying a ball.

Honoo-no Taiiku-kai TV gave Minamino the task of hitting 15 targets in 100 seconds by volleying the ball.

After making a slow start, Liverpool’s new man picked up the pace before becoming the first ever player to complete the challenge - with four seconds remaining!

Lionel Messi was actually set a very similar task previously.

The Barcelona star had 20 targets to hit but he didn’t have to volley them. Instead, they were rolled to him by a machine.

Of course, he completed - but only with seven seconds to spare.
