There's never a quiet day in the life of Zlatan.

Though the headlines revolving around Ibrahimovic should be based on his recent return to AC Milan, the focus is now back on the statue that has been recently resurrected in his native Sweden.

In October, artist Peter Linde unveiled the sculpture of the legendary striker outside the stadium of his former club Malmo.

Ibrahimovic, 38, made his professional debut for the club 20 years ago.

A month after the statue was revealed though, it was announced that he had bought 25% of the shares in rival Swedish side Hammarby.

The 3.5-metre bronze structure was sprayed with paint, set on fire and had a toilet hung on it following the news.

Police were then forced to put a fence around the statue after an attempt to saw through its feet in December. The nose was also cut off the as fans continued to vent their anger.

His house in Stockholm was vandalised too, with 'Judas' painted on the front door.

The vandals have now finally achieved their goal as they sawed through the statue's feet at the second attempt in the early hours of Sunday morning.

As a result, the statue, which also has a shirt bearing the Swedish badge covering the head, has crashed into the surrounding fences. One leg has been completely sawed through, while the other is still partly attached.

There was also graffiti reading "take away" in Swedish written on the floor next to the statue.

Artist Linde has previously appealed for people to stop the vandalism but it seems as though Malmo fans aren't finished with it just yet.

Hammarby finished the season, which ended in November, in third place in the Swedish Allsvenskan. Malmo were in second place, ahead only on goal difference.

Former Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, AC Milan, Paris St-Germain and Manchester United player Ibrahimovic is now in his second spell at Milan having left LA Galaxy at the end of the MLS season. He has signed an initial six-month contract with the option to sign a further year at the end of the season and is expected to make his second debut for them against Sampdoria on Monday.

Expect a response from Zlatan on the pitch on Monday night.
