Ousmane Dembele was one of the world's most talented youngsters at Borussia Dortmund. The youngster's performances in the Bundesliga saw him make the €105 million move to Barcelona in 2017.However, the transfer hasn't worked out in the way he would have hoped. The Frenchman has struggled for form with persistent injuries which have curtailed his progress. That means Dembele, who is currently sidelined with another injury, has scored just 19 times in 74 games for the Catalan giants.

There have been rumours throughout the past year linking him with a move away from the club.

A move to Liverpool has been consistently touted and those rumours have started once again.

And Dembele has just fuelled those rumours even more by liking a photoshopped picture of him in a Liverpool shirt.

It's unknown whether this is a hint from Dembele that he favours a Liverpool move. He may have done it by accident, or he may simply have been appreciating the effort from a fan account.

But it has still got Liverpool fans that want him excited by the prospect.

GIVEMESPORT'S JAMES STROUD SAYS:

Liverpool have recently signed a new kit deal with Nike and it is believed they want a big name signing after the agreement. Dembele would obviously fit that bill.

It also seems feasible that Barca would want to get rid of Dembele. The Frenchman has struggled badly over the past few years with injury and has made just nine appearances so far this season.

They are sufficiently covered in the front three positions and could see Dembele as expendable.

However, I just don't see why Liverpool would want Dembele at this current time.

Liverpool have multiple options in forward positions and they have just signed Takumi Minamino to bolster their options further.

Unless one of their forwards leaves this month, it seems unlikely that Jurgen Klopp will want to bring him in.

Furthermore, he would be a huge risk.

Dembele is extremely talented. That is obvious.

But his injury record would be a huge concern. He just can't seem to stay on the pitch.

And Barcelona would probably want a lot of money to let him go.

If Liverpool do want to sign a forward in the transfer market, they may be better off spending their money on other targets.
