Liverpool beat Everton to reach the fourth round of the FA Cup while fielding a weakened team at Anfield. Curtis Jones scored the only goal of the game as a youthful Reds side poured even more hurt on their Merseyside rivals. Ahead of kickoff, it was expected that Everton would have enough to secure a rare win at Anfield. The visitors were on top from the first whistle, forcing two big saves from Adrian inside 15 minutes. James Milner also suffered an early injury, meaning Jurgen Klopp was forced to bring on 19-year-old Yasser Larouci after eight minutes.

Despite Everton's pressure, Liverpool were able to go into half-time level and even had a few chances themselves.

New signing Takumi Minamino was inches away from scoring a header on his debut, while Divock Origi forced a very good save from Jordan Pickford.

But after the break, the Reds were on the front foot and took the lead through a stunning Jones goal.

The 18-year-old picked up the ball on the edge of the box and curled a beauty past Pickford. Check out his unbelievable strike below:

Brilliant. Everton failed to force an equaliser and succumbed to a rather embarrassing defeat against Klopp's team that made nine changes from their last Premier League win.
