Cardiff City’s search for a goalkeeper is over after agreeing terms with Blackburn Rovers’ Jason Brown.

The 28-year-old is out of favor at Ewood Park and with Tom Heaton and David Marshall both injured; Dave Jones has dipped into the emergency loan market to sign a replacement.

Brown said on twitter: “It’s just been confirmed off to Cardiff, can’t wait.”

The Bluebirds had tried to tempt Chris Kirkland from Wigan Athletic earlier in the week, but a deal couldn’t be agreed.

Brown hasn’t featured in the Blackburn first team this season and has made just six league appearances since 2006/07 season.

This will be the Welshman’s third loan spell of the season, having had spells at City’s promotion rivals Leeds United and League One side Leyton Orient, making nine appearances in all.
