Every current Premier League club's most underpaid player right now

Premier League footballers earn a hell of a lot of money.

So when we say that certain players are 'underpaid', that certainly doesn't apply to the context of the real world.

However, when compared with their teammates, there are a number of players who can feel hard done by when it comes to their wage.

Thanks to spotrac.com, we've decided to name each Premier League club's most underpaid player right now.

Some of their information is a tad outdated, for example West Ham's Declan Rice certainly doesn't earn just £3,000-a-week anymore.

As such, we've had to look at other options for certain clubs.

Arsenal - Rob Holding (£35,000-a-week)

It was difficult to find an Arsenal player that was underpaid given the club's form in 2019/20.

However, when Shkodran Mustafi rakes in £90,000-a-week, Holding - the club's best centre-back when fit - can feel pretty hard done by.

Aston Villa - John McGinn (£25,000-a-week)

Bizarrely, Villa's central midfielder earns less than his counterparts.

Henri Lansbury (£40,000-a-week) and Conor Hourihane (£30,000-a-week) are absolutely laughing!

Bournemouth - Aaron Ramsdale (£3,000-a-week)

The goalkeeper has been a rare shining light in a pretty dismal campaign for the Cherries.

If anyone deserves a pay rise on Eddie Howe's staff, it's Ramsdale.

Brighton - Dale Stephens (£30,000-a-week)

Given his importance to the Seagulls, we feel Stephens should be among the club's highest earners.

But right now, he's somewhere near the middle, with Pascal Gross currently leading the way on £50,000-a-week.

Burnley - Nick Pope (£35,000-a-week)

We know, £35,000-a-week is massive for a goalkeeper playing for Burnley.

However, when Joe Hart is earning £10,000-a-week more, the brilliant Pope deserves the tiniest bit of sympathy.

Chelsea - Kurt Zouma (£40,000-a-week)

The Frenchman has been the pick of Chelsea's defenders under Frank Lampard this season.

So surely Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen shouldn't be earning double his wage?

Crystal Palace - Jordan Ayew (£32,500-a-week)

Now, Ayew is far from a prolific goal scorer for the Eagles, but compared to Connor Wickham, he looks like Cristiano Ronaldo.

As such, the Ghanian must look at Wickham's £60,000-a-week wage and think; how?!

Everton - Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£20,000-a-week)

The Toffees striker is expected to sign a new deal soon after his impressive form under Carlo Ancelotti.

But for now, Calvert-Lewin can safely lay claim to being underpaid by Everton, especially when Morgan Schneiderlin and Gylfi Sigurdsson both earn £100,000-a-week.

Leicester - Harvey Barnes (£10,000-a-week)

One of the Foxes' best performers this season under Brendan Rodgers.

He will no doubt be earning a considerable amount more than £10,000-a-week in due course.

Liverpool - Trent Alexander-Arnold (£40,000-a-week)

The Reds' current wage bill currently has a litany of underpaid players.

Andy Robertson (£50,000-a-week), Joe Gomez (£28,000-a-week) and a fair few more deserve a raise, but Alexander-Arnold is our pick here, given he's the best right-back in world football right now.

Manchester City - Ederson (£65,000-a-week)

A decent wage for a goalkeeper, right?

Well, not when Claudio Bravo is on £80,000-a-week...

Manchester United - Andreas Pereira (£30,000-a-week)

Okay, this one was mighty difficult. Sadly, McTominay recently signed a new deal bumping his wage from £10,000-a-week to around £60,000-a-week.

So we had to go with Pereira, mainly because he's the only first-team regular not raking in obscene amounts of cash every seven days.

Newcastle - Sean Longstaff (£692-a-week)

Longstaff is yet to sign a new deal with the Magpies, so this wage could still be accurate.

Pretty mental, right?

Norwich City - Todd Cantwell (£1,500-a-week)

The Canaries' highest-paid player is bizarrely Sam Byram on £30,000-a-week.

After Cantwell's six Premier League goals this season, he probably deserves to be on par with the right-back.

Sheffield United - John Lundstram (£4,000-a-week)

The Blades don't really pay big, apart from to Phil Jagielka on £50,000-a-week.

Fantasy Premier League hero Lundstram's efforts in 2019/20 certainly merit a raise, with left-wing back Enda Stevens also on just £4,000-a-week!

Southampton - Yan Valery (£2,000-a-week)

A valuable squad player to the Saints, with Valery making 23 Premier League appearances last season.

So he should probably be on a tad more than £2,000-a-week...

Tottenham - Heung-min Son (£140,000-a-week)

Yes, another very difficult one. To put it simply, none of Spurs' lower earners deserve to be earning any more money.

So we've gone for Son, who bizarrely earns £60,000-a-week less than Tanguy Ndombele!

Watford - Ben Foster (£30,000-a-week)

Still one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League and one who should probably be England's number one as well.

As such, we feel Foster should be close to or surpassing Andre Gary at £70,000-a-week at the top of Watford's wage pile.

West Ham - Mark Noble (£50,000-a-week)

Where would the Hammers be without their captain?

Probably in the relegation zone, so the fact that Jack Wilshere earns twice as much as Noble is criminal in the scheme of things.

Wolves - Raul Jimenez (£41,231-a-week)

Both Matt Doherty and Conor Coady have signed new deals recently, so we decided not to include either, with spotrac.com incorrectly listing them as both earning less than £20,000-a-week.

So we've opted for Wolves' goal machine Jimenez, who is currently earning considerably less than summer signing Patrick Cutrone.
