Sadio Mane is set to win the African Player of the Year tonight and absolutely nobody can argue that the Liverpool star doesn’t deserve it.

Mane helped Liverpool earn a ridiculous 97 points last season, sharing the Premier League Golden Boot in the process.

While that wasn’t quite enough to land Liverpool the league title, he did contribute in helping the Reds win the Champions League. Mane earned his side a penalty in the opening minute during Liverpool’s 2-0 win against Tottenham in Madrid.

His form has even seen him surpass Mohamed Salah as Liverpool’s main man. The Senegalese has scored 11 goals in 19 league appearances this season as Liverpool sit well clear at the top of the table.

In fact, Mane may have surpassed every single player in the league.

That’s according to Cesc Fabregas anyway.

The former Chelsea and Arsenal midfielder was conducting a Q&A on Twitter on Tuesday afternoon when he was asked who the best player in the Premier League was.

Fabregas’ reply?

“Mane for me.”

It’s hard to disagree with him, in fairness.

Elsewhere during Fabregas’ Q&A, he found time to troll his former rivals Spurs.

The Premier League’s official account asked him which one of his 50 league goals was his favourite, to which he replied: “Every goal against Spurs will do.”

He was also asked whether he was close to joining Manchester United ahead of the 2013/14 season.

“I wouldn’t say close but I did talk to David Moyes a couple of times,” he admitted.

And also a rather interesting answer about Maurizio Sarri’s tactics.

“He has his tactics and he dies with them. He’s not very flexible let’s say but he’s a good man with a good heart,” Cesc coyly replied.

But perhaps the most important question was regarding the topping of pizza he threw at Sir Alex Ferguson during the 'Battle of the Buffet.'

Turns out it was Pepperoni.
